ELLA MAE LUALLEN Ella Mae Luallen, Daughter of James Albert and Ruby F. Lawson Dwyer, was born, April 24, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this world, Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Lyons, Kansas at the age of eighty-three years, 1 month and 14 days. On August 30, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri, she married Richard William Flugel and to this union one son was born. They divorced in February 2, 1946. On October 19, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Silas Lester Luallen. Together they shared over sixty years of marriage before his passing on February 27, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Michael Dwyer Flugel; a sister, Sara Ann Dwyer Joyce and eight brothers, John Frederick, Burt M., James Albert, John Patrick, Alfred, Charles Daniel, Gerald Lee and Michael Dwyer. Survivors include a sister, Mary Catherine Loutzenhiser of Lyons, Kansas; six sisters-in-law, Mary Luallen of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Cora Dwyer of Falls Church, Virginia, Bonnie Swafford of Independence, Missouri, Kay Dwyer of Kansas City, Missouri; Marlene Rabineau of Eldon, Missouri and Ap Dwyer of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Hubert "Lou" Luallen and wife Thelma of Ashland, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ella worked as a lens grinder for Myers Optical in Kansas City. She transferred to their Eldon office, when she moved to the lake area in the early 1960's. She battled with Alzheimer's for the past ten years. Ella was a loving sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A private burial was held in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
