ELSIE JOHNSTON Elsie Johnston, daughter of Isaac Nathaniel "Ike" Luttrell and Mary Elizabeth Luttrell Luttrell, was born, June 5, 1917 in Argyle, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in her home, Stoutland, Missouri at the age of ninety-seven and twenty days. On August 10, 1935 she was united in marriage to Thomas Garthern Johnston and to this union ten children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles Thomas Johnston; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two sons-in-law. Survivors include her children, John Johnston and wife Betty of Stoutland; Lois Leffert of Montreal; Margaret Gier and husband Dennis of Eldon; James Johnston and wife Sherry of Brumley; Thelma Howell and husband David of Lebanon; Nancy Murrell of Stoutland; Rayborn Johnston and wife Nita of Stoutland; Larry Johnston and wife Cloveta of Stoutland and Kenneth Johnston of Lebanon; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; fifteen step-grandchildren; a sister, Flossie Martin of Camdenton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Elsie was raised in the Brumley area and lived in Stoutland all of her married life. She was a homemaker and help-mate to her husband. Elsie made a profession of faith and was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church, Eldridge. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and flowers. She put out a garden every year except this one. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She touched many lives during her long life and her memories will linger in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillhouse Addition Cemetery, Stoutland. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
