Ernest Frank Tomczak, son of Edward Daniel and Eleanor Kirstein Tomczak, was born July 12, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life, Monday, January 5, 2009 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-three years, five months and twenty-four days. On June 6, 2005 in Ottawa, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Madge Grainger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eddie Tomczak. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Tomczak of the home; two daughters, Jackie Dearborn and husband Derek and Jennifer Dale and husband Scott all of Illinois; seventeen grandchildren; a sister Edwina Zielinski and husband Daniel of Illinois; a brother, Eugene Tomczak and wife Kathy of Colorado and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ernie retired from the United States Army Reserves after twenty-two years of service. At the time of his discharge, he had attained the rank of Warrant Officer. He also retired from the Naperville, Illinois Fire Department where he served as a fire fighter, EMT, ambulance driver and truck driver. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks fifteen years ago. He loved the lake and especially enjoyed fishing. He loved telling stories and planted a garden every year. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Ernie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
