Esther L. West

Esther Lucretia West, daughter of Camillo and Mary (Spado) DeFebbo, was born June 16, 1940 in Braddock, New Jersey. She departed this life Friday, November 8, 2019 in her home at the age of seventy-nine years, four months, and twenty-three days. On November 25, 1961, Esther was united in marriage to Carl West and to this union four children were born. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles DeFebbo. She is survived by her husband, Carl, of the home; four sons, Kevin West and wife Angela of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Timothy West and wife Renee, of Raymore, Missouri, Phillip West and wife Lori, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Carl G. West and wife Heather, of Bonner Springs, Kansas; her grandchildren, Kristopher West and wife Francis, Anthony West, and Ryan Mountz and wife Shill; four great-grandchildren, Hope, Kris, Julie, and Joseph; two sisters, Fenesia Adkins of Lindell, Texas and Martha Green and husband Lynn, of Harpenden, U.K.; one brother, David DeFebbo and wife Ethel, of Hideaway, Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Esther grew up in New Jersey and moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1960 to attend Central Bible College. It was there where Esther met Carl and in 1961 they were married. Esther became a mother in January of 1963 and devoted her life to her family. Esther and Carl entered into the ministry field in 1967 and lived in various locations throughout Carl’s time as a pastor. Esther and Carl moved back to the lake are in October of 2009 following Carl’s retirement from the ministry. She was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Esther was very proud of her Italian heritage and was known for her homemade pastas, sauces and other baked goods. She made sure that every birthday was celebrated with a homemade Red Velvet cake. Her recipes were published in various newspapers and other publications throughout her life. Her cooking was just not a hobby, but her passion in ministry. Many quest speakers, pastors and evangelist enjoyed her cooking. Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Myetta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of services Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
