Eugene “Bud” Burns, son of Floyd and Dorothy Webster Burns, was born June 16, 1939 in Camden County, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in his home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years and nineteen days. On June 1, 1956, Bud was united in marriage to Barbara Edwards and together they shared fifty-two years, until her passing, on June 6, 2008. Bud was also preceded in death by his parents; four sons, Shawn, Rick, Keith, and Kevin Burns; a great-granddaughter, Faith Marie McKennon; and a sister, Shirley Welsh. He is survived by his daughter, Vicky Leffert, and husband Donnie, of Linn Creek, Missouri; son, Rusty Burns and significant other, Cassidy Holloway, of Camdenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Katherine Hooker and husband Ben, Brian Burns and wife Arum, Dusty Burns and wife Amy, Allen Leffert and wife Lisa, Tony Burns and wife Chrissy, Lydia Pastor and husband Ryan, Zoey Burns, and Tristia Gunn and husband Avery; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Phil Burns and wife Vicky, of Camdenton, Missouri, Raymond Burns and wife Judy, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Floyd “Junior” Burns and wife Margaret, of Camdenton, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Bud was a lifelong resident of Camden County. He began his career in concrete construction at the age of sixteen and was known county wide for his work ethic and attention to detail. Later in life he owned and operated his own concrete construction company for many years until his health forced him to retire. He was saved by the grace of God as a child at Webster Grove Church, and later served as a Deacon and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed fishing for white bass and catfish and spending time outdoors. Time spent with his family was very important to him. Bud was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Burns Family Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
