Fern Beatrice Hammer Jones, daughter of Charles Elexander and Verna Francis Blankenship Hammer, was born August 10, 1920 in Toronto, Missouri. She departed this life on Friday, October 13, 2017, in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety seven years, two months and three days. On January 18, 1936, Fern was united in marriage to Archie Lee Jones, and to this union five children were born. Together they shared fifty-seven years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Archie, daughter Pauline Jones, granddaughter Karen Brown, and three brothers: Ivan Hammer, Hubert Hammer, and Jewel Hammer, one sister Ruby Danuser. Fern is survived by her children, Dorothy Cottrell of Ashland, Missouri, Carolyn and Jerry Brown of Montreal, Missouri, Barbara McInnis of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth and Nancee Jones of Montreal, Missouri, her grandchildren, Vickie Samuel and husband Johnny of Ashland, Missouri, David Hanks and wife Julie of Columbia, Missouri, Rick Brown and wife Sandy of Richland, Missouri, Randy Brown of Montreal, Missouri, Amy Erickson and husband Eric of Osage Beach, Missouri, Chris Brown of Montreal, Missouri, Jeff Monnig and wife Michelle of Liberty, Missouri, Julie Dinkel and husband Jason of Stockton, California, Andrew Jones and wife Jen of Lakewood, Colorado, and Lindsey Gillette of Cave Junction, Oregon, fifteen great grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren, one sister Mildred Builderback of Stoutland, Missouri, and one sister-in-law, Louise Jones of Stoutland, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Fern was raised and went to school in the Toronto and Montreal area. Fern accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church. She was active in the Women on Mission group and every aspect of her Church. She loved cooking, quilting, gardening and canning, but the thing she loved the most was spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church, Montreal, Missouri. Burial will follow in Montreal Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 17, 2017at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the Montreal Cemetery and left at the funeral home or the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
