FRANK F. SMITH Frank Forrest Smith, son of Milton Edgar and Blanche Forrest Adams Smith, was born January 28, 1924 in Mountain View, Missouri. He departed this life, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years and two months. On June 23, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ruby Genevieve Smotherman in Salem, Arkansas, and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-seven years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruby Birge and a brother, Roy Smith. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Smith of the home; a daughter, Diane Smith of Riverside, Missouri; two sons, Richard Smith of Aurora, Missouri and Kevin Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tarasa Miller, Lisa Brown and Laura Smith; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Nual Smith and wife Nancy of O'Fallon, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Frank was raised in Mountain View, Missouri and graduated from High School there. After his marriage, he worked with his father in the family feed store, Smith and Surbaugh General Merchandise. He later began a career with the truck line of Frisco Railroad called Frisco Transportation, which spanned from 1946 to 1980. He worked as a local freight delivery driver. They lived in Cabool, Richland and Lebanon. They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1996. Frank made a profession of faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton where he sang in the choir. He had a beautiful tenor voice and performed with a men's barbershop quartet many years. He played on the city baseball league in the 1940's in Mountain View, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed, fishing. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed Cardinals' baseball. Most of all, spending time with his family and friends brought him joy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 in First Baptist Church of Camdenton. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Monday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Health Center Foundation, Jefferson City, Missouri and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
