FRED BRIESACHER Frederick Edward Briesacher, Jr. son of Fred Edward Briesacher, Sr. and Julia Ann Layton Briesacher was born, February 4, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life, Saturday, December 12, 2015, in Lakeside Meadows, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, ten months and eight days. On December 30, 1944, he was united in marriage to Edna Louise Baumgartner and to this union three daughters were born. Together they shared twenty-eight years of marriage until her passing on February 9, 1973. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Louis Briesacher, Eugene Briesacher and Lorraine Briesacher. Survivors include his three daughters, Carol A. Gassner and companion Bob Benavidez of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Linda S. Johnson of Joplin, Missouri and Nancye L. Bethurem and husband Steve of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Michael Gassner, Stacey Mosher, Stephen Johnson, Kameron Johnson, Roy Johnson, Eric Bays and Steven Bethurem; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Van Cleave of Osage Beach, Missouri; a brother, Virgil Briesacher of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; a loving companion, Margaret Garrett of Dixon, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Fred was raised in St. Louis and served his country proudly in the United State Army Air Corp during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the St. Louis area where he worked for Anheuser-Busch. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1955. He owned and operated Fred’s TV Sales and Service in Osage Beach, Missouri , also a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning sales and service business. He developed a program to lease TV’s to lake area motels for the summers only. In 1957, he moved to Waynesville and became the owner of General Supply. He purchased radio equipment in Texas and built his own radio station. KFBD opened in 1965. After the death of his wife, he traveled and later did RV Sales in Florida and Las Vegas. He returned to the Lake of the Ozarks after his retirement from work at the age of eighty. Fred made a profession of faith and was a former member of Waynesville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shire and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was past president of Waynesville Lions Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed flying in a plane he owned for a number of years. He loved the lake and enjoyed boating on Sundays. His specialty was water skiing without getting wet. Most of all, time spent with family and friend was important to him. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in Faithbridge Church, Osage Beach, 901 Highway 42, Osage Beach, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. - until time of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
