GENE MORRIS George Eugene Morris, son of Lester Eugene and Lucy Mildred Hine Morris, was born, May 12, 1940 in Torch, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, March 30, 2014, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years, ten months and eighteen days. On January 21, 1961 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Alma Nettie Wendt and to this union three sons were born. Together they shared fifty-three years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John H. Morris. Survivors include his wife, Alma Morris of the home; three sons, Richard Morris of Camdenton, Missouri, Glenn Morris and companion Joanna Avants of Linn Creek, Missouri and Craig Morris and wife Nicole of Fulton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Paige Lucille and Brock William; a sister-in-law, Ann Morris of Bowie, Texas; two special friends, Suzanne and Samantha Nation and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gene was raised in Chicago and proudly served his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharges, he made his home in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1961. He owned and operated Morris and Sons Mobile Home Transportations for twenty-one years. While at the lake, he owned Blue Moon Bar and G-Bar-M. He also owned the A-Road Mini Mart for nine years. In his spare time, he loved to fish. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and attended as many games as he could. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. No formal funeral service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
