George Saab

GEORGE JOSEPH SAAB George Joseph Saab, son of Otto and Lenora Elizabeth Reeves Saab, was born March 27, 1946 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He departed this life, Thursday, December 13, 2007 in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of sixty-one years, eight months and sixteen days. On December 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to Sharon Lee Holtzman and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1970 and step-mother, Catherine Saab in 2007. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Sharon Saab of the home; three children, Michelle E. Kautz and her husband Chad of Eldon, Missouri; Joseph M. Saab of Linn Creek, Missouri; and Jaime M. Rehmsmeyer and husband Rob of Grain Valley, Missouri; a grandson, Robert Andrew Rehmsmeyer of Grain Valley, Missouri; a step-grandson, Conner Andrew Kautz of Camdenton, Missouri; his father, Otto Saab of Saint Charles, Missouri; three sisters: Mary Jane Carter of San Diego, California; Lenora Funke and husband Donald of Saint Charles, Missouri; Ellen Mercurio of Saint Louis, Missouri; a brother, James Saab of Laurie, Missouri; best friend, Joan Lehmuth of Camdenton, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was raised in Saint Ann, Missouri and attended Saint Gregory Catholic School. He was a graduate of Subiaco Monastery Academy in Arkansas. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a decorated soldier. George started his career in real estate sales in the late 1960's. In the 1970's he began his own company refurbishing homes and new construction. He and his family moved to the lake area in 1988 where he owned and operated American Appliance Center. In the late 1990's, he sold the appliance store and began a commercial development business. This company developed projects such as Staples, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Cash American Stores, and others throughout the country. His most recent project is the American Center in Camdenton, Missouri. He was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri. In his spare time, he enjoyed building and displaying his many hot rods and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. George was a loving husband, Dad, Grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his many accomplishments and know that his memory will live on in our hearts forever. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2007 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 17 in the funeral home. In lieu of memorial donations, masses may be said for George. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
