GLADYS A. PITTMAN Gladys Alta Pittman departed this life Tuesday morning, August 13, 2013 in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety-nine years, two months and fifteen days. Gladys was born on May 29, 1914, at Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Grover and Fannie (Whitworth) Moulder. She graduated from Linn Creek High School, Class of 1935. On June 4, 1941, Gladys was united in marriage to Forrest Olen Pittman at Buffalo, Missouri. They enjoyed thirty-six years together, including many memorable vacation trips to Colorado, until his passing in 1977. Over the years Gladys was a cook at the Linn Creek Elementary School, worked at the Linn Creek Post Office and served as City Clerk of the City of Linn Creek. She was a longtime member of the Linn Creek United Methodist Church and is a past President of the Church Board and the Rebecca Circle. She was an outstanding cook and was in charge of providing food for church dinners and fund-raising bazaars for many years. Gladys was a helpmate to her husband in their business, Pittman Zenith Sales and Service, and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gladys is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Pittman of Linn Creek, Missouri; a grandson, John S. Pittman and wife Patricia of Linn Creek, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Brandi Boak and husband Steve of Camdenton, Missouri, Stacy Silverwood and husband Ryan of Hallsville, Missouri, Erin Burns and husband Tommy of Camdenton, Missouri; six great-great-grandchildren, Jessica Boak, Hannah Boak, Mason Silverwood, Ryley Silverwood, Jodi Silverwood and Faith Silverwood; a sister-in-law, Pauline Moulder of Linn Creek, Missouri; a nephew, Kenneth Moulder and wife Tammy of Linn Creek, Missouri, two nieces, Judy DeSpain and husband Chris of Linn, Creek, Missouri, Connie Jung and husband Craig of Kenai, Alaska as well as several other relatives and many friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forest Olen Pittman, a son, John D. (J.D.) Pittman and a brother, Rolla (Mansey) Moulder. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Old Roach Cemetery, Roach, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Friday in the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Linn Creek United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
