GLENNA COOPER Glenna Marie Cooper, daughter of Jasper "Jack" Leslie and Rita Teresa Miller Leap, was born, July 12, 1931 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, October 5, 2013, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, two months and twenty-three days. In 1951, she was united in marriage to George Emmitt Cooper and to this union three children were born. Together they shared forty-one years of marriage until his passing in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Raymond Leap and Kenneth Leap. Survivors include her children, Larry David Cooper of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joy Jackson and husband Guy of Camdenton, Missouri and Debra Winstead and husband Bill of Camdenton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Gary Leap of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Sharon Shipman of Macks Creek, Missouri, Jackson Leap of Nashville, Tennessee, Donna Jones of Waterloo, Iowa, Paul "Butch" Leap of Mack Creek, Missouri, Roberta Willis of Camdenton, Missouri, Donald Leap of Camdenton, Missouri and Phyllis Eidson of Roach, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Glenna was raised in Camden County and after her marriage lived in Kansas City and Independence, Missouri. She was a cook for Truman High School in Independence. The family moved back to the lake area in the mid 1970's. She retired from Modine in Camdenton. Glenna made a profession of faith and was baptized at New Home Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, especially mowing, cutting wood and gardening. She loved children and babysat often. Most of all, time spent with family and friends was important to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rockdale Cemetery, Sunrise Beach. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
