Glova Rea Slough, daughter of Garry and Goldie Johnson Stockton, was born, September 14, 1936 in Maysville, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, July 25, 2020, in her home, Roach, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, ten months and eleven days. On February 8, 1954 in Denver, Colorado she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Slough and to this union two daughters were born. Together they shared sixty-six years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Geneva Minor and June Norton. Survivors include her husband, John Slough of the home; two daughters, Tanya Stanley and husband Lee of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Alishia Brundege and husband Jeff of Rogersville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kami Macias and husband Greg of Kansas City, Missouri and Bryce Stanley of Bolivar, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Cooper; her sister, Joye Norton and husband Dean of Gladstone, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Glova was raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area and graduated from North Kansas City High School in the class of 1955. Her Father was a builder and each day after school, she would go to her father’s worksite. She worked right beside him and learned skills in carpentry and home building. Rea and John met while he was on Military Police duty guarding the gate and it was love at first sight for both of them. She served our country proudly for fourteen years as a military wife and mother. John and Rea had a summer cottage at the Lake of the Ozarks and once they retired, they made the Lake their permanent home. She sold real estate for over thirty years and had received awards for Top Sales. She had many repeat customers and many referrals. Even after she retired, her clients, who also became her friends, would call her to help them. Glova made a profession of faith and was a member of Linden Baptist Church, Gladstone, Missouri. In her spare time, she was always busy doing something. She loved gardening and had won many ribbons in flower shows for design and horticulture. She also earned a Master Gardener certification. Her favorite flowers were pink roses and daisies. She was also an avid artist and home decorator. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. . No services are planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Lake Regional Hospice or Lake Regional Cancer Center or Lake Bloomers Garden Club and mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020 or left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
