GWEN MARKEN Gwen Hazel Marken, daughter of Glenn D. and Lola Marie Stonebraker Craighton, was born, October 18, 1920 in Hampton, Iowa. She departed this life, Friday, November 27, 2015, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, one month and nine days. In the early 1940’s, he was united in marriage to Harry Eugene Bell and to this union one son was born. He preceded her in death in August of 1969. In 1972, she married Gideon Andrew Marken and he passed on March 14, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son, Lynn Bell and wife Katie of Camdenton, Missouri; three step-sons, Andy Marken and wife Jeannine and Jim Marken and wife Linda all of Sunnyvale, California and Clint Marken and wife Diane of Valley Mills, Texas; two granddaughters, Onnalee Burns and husband Brandon of Columbia, Missouri and Renee Saxman and husband David of Brunswick, Georgia; seven step-grandchildren, Tracy Laidlaw and husband Jason of Peoria, Arizona, G.A. Marken and wife Lou of San Diego, California, Kevin Marken of Des Moines, Iowa, Cindy Myers and husband Aaron of Sunnyvale, California, Robin Carracso and husband Alfredo of Reno, Nevada, Melanie Jackson and husband Davis of Rochester, New Hampshire and Brandi LaBlance of Lewiston, Massachusetts; three great-grandchildren, Mikhail, Calon and Allie; numerous step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Rex Craighton of Hampton, Iowa; a sister, Helen Burns and husband Maury of Iowa Falls, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gwen was raised in Hampton, Iowa. She worked several jobs during her life, but was always a housewife and homemaker. Gwen made a profession of faith and was a member of Community Christian Church in Camdenton. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. In her spare time, she loved to make quilts and do word puzzles. Most of all, time spent with her family and friends was special to her. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and her memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Community Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday in the church. Private burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Marshall, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to Community Christian Church Building Fund and left at the funeral home or the church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
