Helen Maxine Hanks-Doty, daughter of the late Raymond and Mae (Welch) Reed, was born on December 24, 1926. She departed this life on March 1, 2022, at her home in Kaiser, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, two months and five days. On September 26, 1949, she was united in marriage to George Hanks and to this union five children were born. Together they shared thirty-three years of blissful marriage until George’s passing in 1982. Several years later Helen was then married to Carl Doty until his passing. She was preceded in passing by her parents; two brothers, Bob and Dale Reed; and a great-grandson, Kaden Hanks. She is survived by her children, George & Rhonda Hanks, Wendy & Ray Shelton, Steve & Marsha Hanks, Tom & Nancy Hanks, and Kathy Schlenfort; siblings, Jean McGowan, Lyle Reed, Lloyd Reed, Don Reed, and Sandy Dakon; Twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and many friends who will all truly miss her. Helen was born in the Lawrence, Kansas area and grew up in various locations throughout the country until finishing school to care for her family. Helen made a profession of faith and was a lifetime member of Riverview Baptist Church. In her spare time Helen loved to fish, garden, read and had a knack at home remedies for many things. More than anything she loved being with her family, whom she adored. Helen was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral service in New Hope Cemetery, Kaiser, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
