Ina M. Morris

December 22, 1932 - June 1, 2024

Ina Mae (Massie) Morris was born December 22, 1932 at home in Laclede County, MO to her parents Earl Massie and Della (Edison) Massie and passed away on June 1, 2024 at home surrounded by her family in Montreal, MO at the age of ninety-one years, five months and nine days.

She was a graduate of the class of 1950 at Phillipsburg High School. Ina married Willard W. Morris on May 6, 1958, eventually celebrating fifty years and remaining married until his death in August of 2009.

From modest beginnings but through grit, determination and hard work, Willard and Ina raised three children, starting out in a trailer park in Saint Roberts MO, but moving in 1971 to a cattle farm in Montreal, MO. Ina held various jobs at the Lake of the Ozark area including working at the men's store in Poverty Flats Village for over twenty years and many years later at the Dogwood Thrift Store. An avid reader, Ina frequented the Camden County Public Library. All her kids remember both locations when it was located in the Camdenton square.

Her abundant skill as a seamstress was called on by all her kids and grandkids. She was a voracious Scrabble player, enjoyed watching jeopardy and loved homemade ice cream.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Clifford Massie, her sisters and their husbands, Ila and Paul Harris, Betty and Leon Wekenman, nine sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws and many of their spouses.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Morris; and sons Warren Morris and wife Lori, of Montreal, MO, and Mark Morris and wife Erica, of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Joseph Morris, Michelle Morris, Wilson Morris and Luke Morris;- sister-in-laws’ Melba Massie and Dale Morris and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend to many. Ina was small in stature, but was determined to her raise her children and provide them with comforts she never knew as a child. She was a real life example of self-sacrifice, coupled with humility and a strong sense of what is right that we will forever try and live up to.

The family will have a private graveside service at Freedom Cemetery where Ina will share a gravesite with her husband, Willard Morris. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2024 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lower Level, Camdenton, Missouri

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
