Irma Irene Trego

Irma Irene Trego, daughter of Oscar and Lena Viola (Rumsey) Strawn, was born on April 17, 1926 and departed this life on June 15, 2023. At the time of her passing, Irma was ninety-seven years, one month and twenty-nine days of age.


On January 18, 1945, in Norman, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to George William Trego and to this union, five children were born. Together they shared seventy-one years of marriage.


She was preceded in death by her husband, George Trego; and two sons, Martin & Lawrence Trego.


She is survived by her children, Steve (Libby) Trego, Cheryl (Barry) Gipson and Carol (Steve) Botch; five grandchildren, Jayneen (Shawn) Scheffler, Alison (Patrick) Mero, Anna (Michael) Gorman, Paul Botch (Belinda Backous) and Alissa (Tony) Johnston; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


Irma was raised in Hutchinson & Kensley, Kansas and later graduated from Rock Island High School in Illinois. She eventually became a Tupperware Lady, and quickly became a manager! She received many awards throughout her career as well as a new Station Wagon- Go Trego Tigers!


Irma made a profession of faith and was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church; where she assisted in many areas from the beginning.


In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, reading, playing card games & dominoes and cooking. She had a special talent for quilting cathedral windows, crocheting scrubbies and doing the chicken dance!


She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great-great grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.


A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge, IL with Pastor Robert Hagen officiating.


Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church and mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home,15 Clint Ave, Camdenton, MO 65020.


Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
