She departed this life Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Stoutland, Missouri, at her granddaughter Barbaras home, at the age of ninety-two years, nine months, and twenty-two days. Iva was baptized on October 21, 1923 in Zions Lutheran Parsonage in Hanover, Kansas. On August 28, 1947, Iva was united in marriage to Raymond Jim Gideon in Mountain Home, Arkansas and to this union three daughters were born and one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, on February 18, 1995; a granddaughter, Bertha Brown; a great-grandchild, Jewell Cooper; four brothers, Raymond, Wilbur, Victor, and Louie Molt; three sisters, Velma Molt, Frances Slatier, and Gertie Otto; step-daughter-in-law, Oneta Gideon and a step-granddaughter Sarah Gideon. Iva is survived by her daughters, Stella Stamper of Montreal, Missouri, Pauline Hodges and husband William Allen, of Stoutland, Missouri, and Patsy Brown and husband Billy, of Stoutland, Missouri; a son, Billy Gideon of Stoutland; a step-son (who she thought of as her own), Ralph Gideon of Montreal; her grandchildren, Barbara Cooper and husband Chester, of Stoutland, Missouri, Jeff Hodges of Montreal, Missouri, Skid Hodges and wife Michelle, of Stoutland, Missouri, Joe Hodges of Stoutland, Missouri, Brian Gideon and wife Elizabeth, of Stover, Missouri, Janna Gideon of Florence, Missouri, Cody Gideon of Florence, Missouri, Amy Bruck and husband Nick, of Camdenton, Missouri, Sarah McKee and husband Ryan, of Manhattan, Kansas, Laura Oleary, of Stoutland, Missouri; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, Calvin Molt and wife, Mary, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Louise Fultner, of Texas, Bessie Singleton, of Kentucky, Alice Haley, of Kearney, Missouri, Grace Young, of Texas, Nelda Perry and husband Ernest, of Kearney, Missouri, Pat Logan, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dorothy Langston and husband Doug, of South Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Iva was born in Kansas and spent the majority of her adult life living in Missouri. She loved to pick walnuts and berries and share them with her neighbors. She would save her aluminum cans for her granddaughter Barbara and her grandson Joe. She loved watching Young and the Restless and the Price is Right with her daughter Patsy after going to town to get groceries. Granny had nurses aides that cared for her during the day. She loved them very dearly. Paula, Irene, Susan and Kelly were her favorites. She loved unconditionally, that was the only way she knew to love. Her heart was so full of love with a little bit of sassy and silliness to her personality. She loved gardening and watching the birds. She also loved working in her wood shed with her buzz saw cutting wood for her pot belly stove. She had a way for everything she did. She didn’t know how to waste anything she had. Even though Granny Pooch is in her forever home, the memories she left behind are priceless to all the ones she loved dearly. Granny Pooch was a true blessing to everyone that knew her and got to be in her life. Iva lived a simple life, and enjoyed sending cards to family and friends for their birthdays and anniversaries. Her family was important to her and she cherished the time spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.
