Jack Bernard Mickel, Jr.

Jack Bernerd Mickel Jr., son of Jack Bernerd, Sr., and Naomi Erne Mickel, was born, March 19, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He departed this life, Tuesday evening, February 11, 2020, in Golden Age Living Center, Stover, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, ten months and twenty-three days. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Jackie Moore, Jenette King, Joyce Taylor and Nancy Bibbee; three brothers, Gerald Mickel, Jimmy Mickel and baby John Mickel. Survivors include his sister, Sally Graham and husband James of Camdenton, Missouri; two nephews that helped take care of Jack, Randy Moore and wife Linda of Camdenton and Kirk Steele and wife Penny of Osage Beach, Missouri; his son, Jesse Mickel of the state of Washington; his two daughters, Keri Pettit and husband Randy of Big Bear, California and Sara Watts of Fremont, Nebraska; his four grandchildren, Christian, Kellen, Kuylee and Moya; as well as a host of numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jack had lived most of his life in the Omaha and Fremont, Nebraska area. On August 3, 1970 he entered the United States Air Force where he proudly served our country as a Security Policeman. He was a skilled dog handler for the Air Force. In 1991, he moved to Tucson, Arizona to take care of his termly ill brother, Gerald Mickel. He had worked many years as an Auto Technician Manager for Goodyear Tires. Jack made a profession of faith and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. In his spare time he had a passion for collecting guns and knives and was a licensed firearms dealer. When he lived in Hispecia, California he loved raising and training horses. Jack could often be found playing Solitaire on his computer. He was a loving brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service with full military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
