Jack Crowell

Jack Wayne Crowell, son of Roy Willard and Frances Opal Briggs Crowell, was born November 1, 1948 in Osage Beach, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, September 5, 2008 at his home in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years, ten months, and four days. On June 9, 1973, Jack was united in marriage to Jo Ann Young and to this union two children were born. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Jo Ann of the home; two daughters, Angela Keeting and husband Don of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Catherine Tipton and husband Ben of Rolla, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jackson and Alex Keeting; three brothers, Dean Crowell of Grandview, Missouri, Darrell Crowell and wife Elaine of Springfield, Missouri, Ray Crowell and wife Jennie of Kaiser, Missouri; his step-mother, Elaine Crowell of Maryland Heights, Missouri; two step-brothers John Benten and wife Judy of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mark Benten and wife Peggy of Maryland Heights, Missouri; two step-sisters, Anne Benten of Chiloquin, Oregon and Beth Benten Burns and husband Rex of Pullman, Washington; a number of nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Jack resided in Camdenton for the past thirty-five years. He was a graduate of Camdenton High School and Southwest Baptist University. He was always a Laker and Bearcat supporter. Jack was a Juvenile Court Supervisor for Camden County and was involved in Jaycees, Rotary Club, Camdenton Band Boosters, Camdenton Alumni Association, Lake Area Industries and Camdenton City Council. He worked with his family owned business, Crowell Distributing Lawn and Garden, in many positions. He was a Vice-President for First National Bank of Camdenton, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton. Jack was very proud of his girls and followed them through their many activities. He never met a stranger and would find a relationship through mutual friends, family, business, or the Bible. Jack will be missed by everyone that knew him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, with Reverend Bob Aubuchon and Reverend Bill Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Camdenton Building Fund, St. John's Hospice of Lebanon, or the Camdenton Alumni Association Scholarship fund and may be left at the funeral home.
