JAMES BARRY CROSBY James Barry Crosby, son of Wendell Glen and Pansy Carmen Allen Crosby, was born, March 9, 1937 in Parma, Missouri. He departed this life, Wednesday, February 29, 2012, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-four years, eleven months and twenty days. On October 12, 1957 in Burlington, Massachusetts he was united in marriage to Phyllis Lorraine Geddes and to this union four children were born. Together they shared forty-two years of marriage until her passing on August 1, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wendell Allen Crosby. Survivors include two sons, James Crosby of Bloomfield, Missouri and David Crosby of Bossier City, Louisiana; two daughters, Patty MacDougall and husband Will of Wolcott, New York and Diane Collins and husband Jim of Linn Creek, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Amanda Allan, Lauren Leonardson, James Crosby, Blaine Crosby, Tamara Crosby, Brynn Collins, Drew Collins and Rebeca Crosby; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Allan, Zaydin Morgan and Makinley Crosby; a brother John Crosby of Camdeton, Missouri; a special friend, Juanita Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. James was raised in the boot heel area of Southern Missouri where he attended school. He was studying Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University when he enlisted with the United States Army. After proudly serving his country, he lived in Burlington, Massachusetts where he met and married his wife. They lived there for a time before moving to suburban Boston, where the raised their children. In 1979, they moved to Malden, Missouri where he was able to follow his passion and work the family farm. They made their home in Camdenton, Missouri in 1991. He worked in the Appliance Repair business most of his life. He owned and operated Crosby Appliance in Camdenton. James made a profession of faith and was a member of New Testament Christian Church He was a licensed amateur ham radio operator. He held the highest license issued for amateur radio and morse code. He assisted Camden County in Civil Defense and served as the Assistant Emergency Coordinator. He was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Amateur Radio Club and the Lebanon Amateur Radio Club. He was also part of the McDonald's breakfast club. In his spare time, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laughlin Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
