James Leroy Griffith, son of James L. and Lucille Elise Whitney Griffith was born January 5, 1948 in Alma, Michigan. He departed this life Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in Select Specialties Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of Seventy-two years, two months, and twelve days. On July 5, 2012, Jim was united in marriage to Mary Ferris Crowl, and together they have shared the last eight years. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife of forty-three years, Deborah Griffith. He is survived by his wife Mary, of the home; his children, Joann Bragg of Lebanon, Missouri and Michael Crowl, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a granddaughter, Keira Bragg; his siblings, John Griffith and wife Nancy of the State of Michigan and Jill Hinkley and husband Kirk, of the State of Washington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Jim grew up in Michigan and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. Following graduation, Jim entered into the United States Air Force where he served as a Loadmaster during the Vietnam War and was stationed at various bases throughout the world during his career. He retired with from the Air Force after several years of faithful service. Jim moved to Missouri after his retirement spent his time working on small engines and as a Long-Haul Truck Driver. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed going to the river, fishing, hunting, coin collecting and working on computers. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 27, 2020 in the Allee-Memorial Gardens in Camdenton, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
