James Robert York

James Robert York, son of Charles Robert and Agnes Marguerite (Green) York, was born October 19, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Missouri Veterans’ Home, Mexico, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, eight months, and seven days. On June 26, 1971, James was united in marriage to Pamala Jeffries, and to this union two children were born. James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Betsy Adel Parks and husband Rodney, and Christy Lynn Nelson and friend Jay Ballard; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sisters, Joy Howard, Karen Smallridge, and Brandy Jenda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. James spent his younger years in the Kansas City area and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. Following his return from Vietnam, James went to work at the Lodge of Four Seasons as an HVAC Specialist and retired after twenty-three years of faithful service. He also volunteered for the Osage Beach Fire Protection District and was an EMT for the Libby Ambulance Service. James loved to work on furniture and was a skilled wood worker. He enjoyed tinkering on things that needed fixed and was especially fond of his dually pick-up truck. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial with military honors will follow on Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Forget Me Not Horse Sanctuary in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
