Janest Elaine Hager

Janest Elaine Hager, daughter of Thomas O. and Alice L. (Durham) Skinner, was born April 13, 1945 in Glasgow, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, December 25, 2021 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, eight months, and twelve days. On January 22, 1971, Janest was united in marriage to Robert L. Hager, and together they shared forty-eight years until Robert’s passing. Janest was also preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter Kristen Morris. She is survived by her children, James Jeffrey Morris and wife Amy, of Arizona, Chris Hager, of Montreal, Missouri and Samantha Dove and husband Matt, of Warsaw, Missouri; her grandchildren, Crystal Rodenbaugh, Conner Morris, Ethan Morris, Jordan Dove, Ella Dove, Kinsley Morris, Kendra Morris, Penelope Morris, Fiona Morris and Matilda Morris; two great-grandchildren Carter and Charlie Rodenbaugh; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Janest spent her younger years living in Marshall, Missouri and attended State Fair Community College, Missouri Valley College and Missouri State University. She spent time working on a shrimp boat in Texas for a short while before moving back to Missouri. Janest then started her career in the healthcare field before retiring as a Medical Technician at Windsor Estates Care Center in Camdenton, Missouri. In her spare time, Janest enjoyed painting and ceramics. She was an avid reader and spent a great amount of time working in genealogy and had created a family history book. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Janest was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 29, 2021 in Slater City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home and are incomplete at this time.
