Janet Marie Rankins

Janet Marie Rankins (Nee, Mikesell) of Osage Beach, MO entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at the age of 68. Janet was born in Ontario, OR, but spent most of her life in Southern California. She attended high school at Pioneer HS in Whittier, CA graduating in 1972. She also attended classes at The University of Southern California, Fullerton for childhood education and fashion design.

Janet went on to spend many years as a talented seamstress and a dedicated and hardworking Avon saleswoman. She received many accolades for her sales over the years. Janet enjoyed contributing to her families wedding celebrations throughout her life, with her sewing skills. Many times, you could find her tending to her gardening, spending time with her cat, learning about nutrition, cooking & collecting cookbooks.

Most of all, she wanted the world to know that she loved her family very much and her greatest achievements are her boys. They are the most important achievements that she leaves behind; Brian (Annette) Rankins of Maricopa, AZ, Scott Rankins of California, MO & their father Michael Rankins of California, MO. As well as her grandchildren; Logan, Marion, NovaLee, Olivia & Paisley.

Her absence is also felt by her siblings and their families as well: Linda Hindman of Chester, IL; Alan (Maria) Mikesell of Walnut, CA Peggy (Daniel) Neubert of St. Charles; MO and Betty Mikesell of St. Charles, MO. Janet’s departure is preceded by her parents Alberta (Nee Dohner) (Dec. 2013) & Neil Mikesell (Jan. 2016) as well as her brother-in-law, Gary Hindman (Jan. 2021).

A celebration of life is to be held in Janet’s honor mid-June 2023. Details will be released via a family FB page.
