JAY W. SPENCER, JR. Jay Warren Spencer, Jr., son of Jay Warren and Lotus Lillie Henry Spencer, was born, April 27, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He departed this life, Friday, October 5, 2007 in Ozark Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety years, five months and eight days. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Spencer and Winston Spencer and a granddaughter, Kathleen Kitchen. He is survived by his living wife of sixty-seven years, Marie B. Spencer of the home; a son, David A. Spencer and wife Carol A. of Bloomingdale, Illinois; a daughter, Rose Sorensen and husband Robert A. of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandsons, Jay D. Spencer of Florence, Arizona, Jacob D. Spencer of Aurora, Illinois and Michael E. McAllister of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a great-granddaughter, Anna M. Mitchell of Camdenton, Missouri; a sister, Lotus Williams of Huntington Beach, California and other relative and friends. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City, Missouri area. He worked as a streetcar operator and later began a career in sales for Rockwell International. After his retirement from Rockwell in 1983, he and his wife retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a Shriner and was active in the shrine in Kansas City and the lake area. In his free time, he enjoyed doing handy-man projects. He made a profession of faith and followed the Methodist faith. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Fireside Room. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenoton.
