JC Byler, son of Benson Nathaniel and Merle Lorraine Bargay Byler, was born May 4, 1949 in Seligman, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in his home, at the age of seventy-years, three months, and three days. On May 8, 1986, JC was united in marriage to Vera Cowen, and together they have shared the last thirty-three years. JC was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Pierce King; three brothers, Charlie, Johnny, and Edward Dean Byler; and a granddaughter, Faith Marie McKinnon. He is survived by his wife Vera, of the home; his children, Bryan Byler, of Montreal, Missouri, Jason Byler, of Elm Springs, Arkansas, William McKinnon and wife Katie, of Camdenton, Missouri, Matthew McKinnon of Camdenton, Missouri, Michael George of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Doug Edens of Rogers, Arkansas; a brother Larry Byler and wife Joyce, of Linn Creek, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; two very dear friends, Leon Burns and Wilbert Goldsberry; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. JC was a lifelong resident of the Linn Creek area and attended Linn Creek Grade School. Early in his life, JC worked as a horseback trail guide at Roaring River State Park. JC was a jack of all trades but spent most of his career as a self-employed carpenter. JC had been saved and was a member of the Linn Creek Baptist Church. In his spare time, JC enjoyed horseback riding, bull riding, attending singings at Larry’s house, and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to go fishing, and his boys were able to take him on one last trip just a week before he passed. JC was a good man and was loved by many. He has left behind many wonderful memories that will be cherished for years to come. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 in Linn Creek Baptist Church, Linn Creek, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to a fund that has been established and left at the church or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
