Junior Dale “J.D.” Burns, son of Luther Thomas and Leona Mae (McGuire) Burns, was born November 1, 1932 in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in his home at the age of eighty-seven years, five months, and fourteen days. On May 15, 1954, JD Was united marriage to Minnie Fern Webster and to this union six children were born. JD was preceded in death by his wife, Fern, on October 29, 2018; his parents; a son, Jerry Burns; a granddaughter Joni; grandson, Jeromy; and his siblings, Clora Mae Webb, Clarence Burns, Lester Burns, and Glen Burns. He is survived by his children, Linda Myers and husband Marlan, of Lebanon, Missouri, Wesley Burns and wife Rhonda, of Lebanon, Missouri, Wayne Burns and wife Trisha, of Eldridge, Missouri, David Burns and wife Karen, of Lebanon, Missouri, Darrell Burns, of Lebanon, Missouri, and George Rooffener, of Eldridge, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Heimbeaugh of Camdenton, Missouri, and Jeannie Webster and husband Junior, of Camdenton, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. JD spent his younger years living in the Camdenton area. He spent time working in the oil fields in Canada and Michigan. He later returned to Camdenton and made his home there. JD worked various jobs and spent many years working as a bus driver for Camdenton R-III Schools. He was saved and was a member of Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, JD enjoyed fishing, turkey and fox hunting, and working on anything that needed fixing. He was very meticulous and always made sure everything was in its place. He was loved by all who knew him and you never saw him without a smile on his face. JD was a friend to all and was always in attendance at many visitations and funerals. During this unique time, we are having a private graveside service but we owe it to him to have a public visitation at a later date. JD was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his long life and many accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020.
