Velma Jean Ginnings, daughter of Gareth, Sr. and Wanda Jean (Peak) Camp, was born June 15, 1951 in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, August 11, 2019 in her home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, one month, and twenty-seven days. On November 4, 1989, Jean was united in marriage to Gary Ginnings, and together they have shared the last thirty years. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Gareth Camp, Sr.; her mother Wanda Williams; step father Fred Williams; a brother, Glenn Camp; and her father-in-law, Bob Ginnings. She is survived by her husband, Gary Ginnings, of the home; two brothers, Gary J. Camp and wife Gerrie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Harold Williams and wife Pamela, of Strafford, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Bonita Camp, of Cuba, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Alice Ginnings of Linn Creek, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Rick Ginnings and wife Susie, of Camdenton, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Briscoe and husband Garry and Nancy Parish and husband Doug, all of Camdenton, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Jean grew up in Strafford, Missouri and was a graduate of Strafford High School in the Class of 1969. Following her graduation, Jean attended Draughn’s Business School. She had a successful career in newspaper advertising sales and in 1992 received the American Publishing Presidents Club Award for Sales. Jean worked at the Lake Sun Leader Newspaper in Camdenton for many years until her retirement. She was saved at the age of ten at Bethlehem Chapel in Springfield, Missouri and was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church in Camdenton. In her spare time, Jean loved to go to various flea markets, attending singings, and singing in the church choir. She cherished most the time spent with her family and friends. Jean was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2019 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow at 4:15 pm in Bass Chapel Cemetery, 8417 MO. Hwy 125, Strafford, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton
