Jerlene Allen

Jerlene "Jeri" Wymer Allen of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born August 26, 1937, Norwood Missouri, the daughter of Emery Ernest Wymer and Ollie Alberta Ryan Ratteree, who preceded her in death. Jeri was married to Ronald E. Allen on April 1, 1977, in the State of Nevada. He preceded her in death in 2009. Jeri was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield High School, Mansfield, Missouri. She began her newspaper career at "The Mansfield Mirror" and retired from the L. A. Times in Los Angeles, California. She is survived by her brother, Larry (Glenda) Wymer of Rocky Mount, Missouri; six nieces; cousins; sister-in-law, Lois Marklein; brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) Allen; and, her dog, Beau. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Bert Wymer, Gary Wymer, and Texas Wymer. A private burial will be held in the near future at the Oak Forest Cemetery in Norwood, Missouri. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
