Jesse Daniel “Danny” Starr, son of the late Jesse & Ruth (Stowell) Starr, was born on September 7, 1946 and departed this life on December 6, 2023. At the time of his passing, Danny was seventy-seven years, two months and twenty-nine days of age.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Warren Starr and Kenneth Starr; and two sisters, Ruth Anne Starr and Dorothy Starr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Starr; his three children, Jeff (Dawne) Starr, Tonia Starr and Andy “Bean Dip” Wyatt; his grandchildren, Brianna Starr (Levi), Makenzee Starr, Tylor Mann as well as their mother Jamie Mann, Amanda Baker (Nick), Sammi (Todd) Bithell, C.J. Baker (Kaitlyn) and Brooklynn Angell; his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Bentley, Korbin, Kalvin, Landon, Willian, Nicky, Lane, Joey, Gunner, Maylynne, Wrenlee, Bostyn and Bryson; one sister, Linda Lindsey of Springfield MO and 3 sister in laws Ellen (Rick) Bradley of Linn Creek, Peggy Shipman of Texas, and Cheryl Shipman of Linn Creek. Danny also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will truly miss him.
Danny was raised and attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri area. After finishing his time in school, Danny began working in the Maintenance department for MoDOT. On June 4, 1966, Danny was united in marriage to Linda Shipman, together they would raise three children and share fifty-seven years of marriage. Following their marriage, they would spend a few years in Belton, Missouri before moving to Camdenton to raise their family. While in Camdenton, Danny became very active as an EMT for the local Ambulance Service as well as a volunteer fire fighter, attaining the position of Fire Chief for the Camden Rural Fire Department, now known as Mid-County Fire Department.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting and most of all, spending time with friends and family.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & brother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Firefighter’s Memorial and left at the funeral home the day of the service.
