JAMES GRADY James Irwin Grady, son of John A. Grady and Georgia Mount Pottorf, was born, August 19, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Monday, November 26, 2007 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years, three months and seven days. On September 19, 1974, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Mathews. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Grady and step-dad, Jess Pottorf. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Dorothy of the home; a son, James Edward Grady and wife Joyce of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Rhonda Perry and husband Jim of Eldon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nicholas Mendoza and wife Sara, Melody and Harmony Walker and T.J. Grady; three great-grandchildren, Emily Mendoza and Trinity, Kalista and Traton Walker; two brothers, Jerry Grady of Kansas City, Missouri and Rick Grady of Chilhowee, Missouri; two sisters, Gay and Kay Grady; his mother, Georgia Pottorf and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and lived most of his life there. He and his wife moved to Edwards, Missouri in 1980. He began a career with the Kansas City Fire Department at a young age and retired from the department as a Captain in 1977. After moving to Edwards, he founded the Lazy Acres Fire Department. Jim was a member of the Retired Firemen Committee where he served as treasurer and helped organize their annual picnic. He was an outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting, archery and fishing. He was an avid bowler. He spent many hours working in his garden and loved wiener roasts. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncles and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
