JIM HUFFMAN James M. Huffman, son of Aubrey Manual and Virginia Eleanor Layne Huffman, was born, February 13, 1940 in Versailles, Missouri. He departed this life, Friday, October 25, 2013, near Phillipsburg, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years, eight months and twelve days. On October 28, 1971 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Allen. Together they shared nearly forty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Audrey Eleanor Huffman. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Huffman of the home; three daughters, Shannon Huffman and husband Scott Tharp of Fulton, Missouri, Kalyn Rogers and friend Don Holbrook of Camdenton, Missouri and Audrey Fields of Eldon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jesse Huffman, Austin Oshel, SPC Dylan Weiss and wife Ashley and Jake Rogers; a brother, Wesley Wilson of Stover, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Linda Allen of Kansas City, Missouri; a nephew, Jamie Shore and wife Heather of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two great-nephews, Tyler Shore and Shawn Wilson; his life-long friends, Tom Emry and Jack Cross and a host of other relatives and many friends. Jim was raised in Versailles and was a graduate of Versailles High School in the class of 1958. He worked for Missouri Utilities before beginning a career with the Missouri Department of Conservation. He was a forest fire fighter and his career with the department spanned from 1964 to 1998. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working. His passion was auctions and the last things he did on this earth was attend an auction. His family meant the world to him and spending time with them always brought him joy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. No formal funeral service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to L.A.M.B House and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
