Jim Shivers

Jim Shivers, son of Wes and Zedna Waters Shivers, was born September 4, 1932 in near Linn Creek Missouri. He departed this life Thursday morning, October 6, 2022, in Montreal, Missouri at the age of ninety years, one month and two days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ezra Shivers and John Shivers; his sister, Alice Hollingsworth and his sister-in-law, Hazel Shivers.

In his passing, Jim leaves behind several friends, whom he considered family.

Jim was raised in the Linn Creek area and attended school at Freedom. After graduation, Jim worked on the family farm with his dad and brother raising stock cattle. He was later employed by the Missouri Conservation Department and the Missouri State Parks and worked at the Fort Leonard Wood Recreation Center. He retired after twenty-eight years to the State of Missouri. Jim and his brother John raised Black Angus cattle together and were well known by many for their beautiful cattle. He was a member of the Black Angus Association.

Growing up, he attended church at Freedom Church of Christ in Montreal.

Jim’s favorite hobby was to work and live on the family farm which he still owns. His farm was his haven which gave him security and happiness. To Jim, his farm was a picture of God’s loveliness.

Jim was a wonderful son, brother and brother-in-law and was a caring neighbor and friend to many. We celebrate his life and the many wonderful memories that he made for everyone that knew him.
