JOANN MARTIN JoAnn Martin, daughter of Joseph Wesley and Eileen McCoy Rinkenbaugh, was born, November 21, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this life, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, eleven months and twenty-nine days. On August 23, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Ace Donel Martin and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-one years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Ace D. Martin of the home; three children, Ace R. Martin and Richard W. Martin both of Macks Creek, Missouri and Mickey McGuire of Roach, Missouri; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jean Fry; a brother, Joseph "Bud" Rinkenbaugh both of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. JoAnn was raised in Kansas City and graduated from high school there. She married her high school sweetheart and they made their home in the Kansas City area. She loved being a stay-at-home mom until her children started school. She then began a career as a cook in several Kansas City area schools including, Oak Park, Antioch and Gashland. She worked for several years in the Maple Wood School for the severely handicapped. She and Ace moved to Macks Creek in 1991. JoAnn made a profession of faith and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for fifty years. She was very active in her children's lives and participated in many of their activities. She was a member of the P.T.A. and was a leader in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was a member of the Homemakers Club of Macks Creek. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was very interested in genealogy and started a genealogy library at her church. Most of all, being with her family brought her joy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Highway KK in Osage Beach under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Burial will follow in Parrack Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m., Monday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Welfare Fund and left at the funeral home or the church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
