Vanna Jo "Jody" Housknecht, 72, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on May 9, 2024.

Vanna Jo "Jody" (Wheaton) Housknecht

Born Sept 27, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona to Richard Sr. and Velma (Caviness, Wilson) Wheaton.

1969 Graduated from William Chrisman High School, Independence, Missouri.

1970 Graduated from Longview Community College of Kansas City, Missouri with an associate degree in Business Administration.

Married to Victor Housknecht June 24, 1972 and married for 51 years. Together they had 3 children, Jessica Lynn, Nicole LeeAnn and Ryan Wade.

She had many interests and prior to an ankle injury was trying out to be a member of the Olympic gymnastics team. She had a love of birds and one of her favorites were hummingbirds which for several years she was feeding over a hundred birds. Her love of nature and outdoors led her family to many travels and adventures in the southwest states and Missouri. Jody was also an avid reader and wrote many short stories for her family and great granddaughter.

She worked for the Social Security Department until she began employment for the United State Post Office in both Lebanon Missouri and finally in Independence Missouri where she retired.

She retired to Preston Missouri with Victor for many years, until health issued required, they move closer to medical facilities in Camdenton Missouri.

She was proceeded in death by husband Victor Housknecht, daughter Nicole Housknecht, son Ryan Housknecht and parents Velma and Richard Wheaton Sr.

She is survived by daughter Jessica Hunter and Dustin Hughes, granddaughter Brianne Hunter, grandsons Ethan and Wyatt Hunter, great granddaughter Haven Hunter. Sisters: Karma Augustine, Konie Stillians and Tony, Patricia Todd and Harry, Nanette Smith and Steve, brothers Brad Wheaton and Rachel and Richard Wheaton, Jr and Pamela. Numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, many other cousins and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
