Joli (Palen) Harding

Joli E. Harding Joli Eileen Harding, daughter of Joseph Richard and Lisa Jean Winchester Palen, was born January 26, 1977 in Alton, Illinois. She departed this life January 1, 2012 at the age of thirty-four years, eleven months, and five days. On July 13, 1996, Joli was united in marriage to Tom Harding and together they have two children. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Genevive Winchester; paternal grandparents, Edward and Eileen Palen; aunt, Sally Rosack; uncles, Edward Palen, Jr., Timothy Palen, and Clifford Winchester; and two cousins, Kari Towell and Julie Bock. Joli is survived by her husband Tom; daughter Raine; and son Braydon, all of the home; two step-children, Rolf Harding of Columbia, Missouri and Samantha Short of Boise, Idaho; her father, Joseph Palen and wife Renee of Marshall, Missouri; mother Lisa Palen and partner Myrna Blaine of Camdenton, Missouri; brothers, Michael Pace and partner Ginny Klabaugh-Blanchard of East Alton, Illinois, Joseph Palen and fiance Kattie Davis of Columbia, Missouri; father and mother-in-law J.C. and Teddy Short of Mountain Home, Idaho; step-sister Tiffiney Riley; step-brothers, Derek and Nick Yokeley; four nieces, two nephews, and many loving friends, cousins, aunts and uncles. Joli attended Camdenton Middle School and High School, where she was active in band, drama, cheerleading, and flags. She also attended Columbia College and enjoyed a variety of jobs including bookkeeping and being a veterinary's assistant. Joli was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer at the age of seventeen and fought valiantly to balance the burdens of her illness and caring for her family. She endured seventeen surgeries and innumerable procedures and tests with diginity, faith and hope. In her spare time, Joli enjoyed playing Farmville and spending time with her family. The last few years, Joli made lots of memories during family float trips and a lifelong dream vacation to Disney World. Joli's dream of having a loving family in a beautiful home was realized when Joli, Tom and the kids moved into a new home, that Tom had built, last June. Joli's family remembers her as an extremely loving person, with a warm hug and welcoming smile for everyone. We celebrate her life and the memories she leaves behind will live on forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Dale Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to help assist the family with expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
