WALLY McCURDY Joseph Wallace "Wally" McCurdy, son of Art McCurdy and Phyllis Journey Sanford, was born, March 29, 1957 in Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, July 28, 2013, in his home, Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of fifty-six years, three months and twenty-nine days. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Debbie of the home; a son, Wally McCurdy and wife Alysha of Springfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Marley McCurdy; his mother, Phyllis Sanford of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Ron McCurdy of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Martha Devryes of Kansas City, Missouri; three step-children, Jenny Williams, Steven Mackenberg and Cline House; three step-granddaughters and six step-grandsons that he considered his own and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Wally was raised in Marshfield, Missouri and moved at an early age to Springfield, Missouri. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge early on due to a medical condition. He returned to Springfield where he began a career as a painter, doing both residential and commercial painting. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1994. Wally attended Living Word Pentecostal Church of God in Climax Springs, Missouri. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and be out in nature. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold 'Em. He really loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He left us much too early, however, we will treasure the memories he created and carry them in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Living Word Pentecostal Church of God in Climax Springs under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Burial will follow in Climax Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday in the church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
