Joseph Weiss

JOSEPH H. WEISS Joseph Hayden Weiss, the only son of Jacob J. and Ida M. Chadduck Weiss, was born, April 9, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life, Wednesday, October 20, 2010, near Eugene, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years, six months and eleven days. In April 30, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, he married his childhood sweetheart, Marilyn W. Worstenholm. Together they shared forty-four years of marriage until her passing on March 17, 1998. He was later married to Ruth McKeever and they shared four years until she passed away. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He was the proud father of two children, his son, Joseph Weiss and his wife Jeannine who he loved as his own daughter of Camdenton, Missouri and his daughter, Julie Palmer and her husband Clark, who he thought was a great guy of Gravois Mills, Missouri; three grandchildren he adored, Megan Palmer, Laura Weiss and Joseph Weiss. Through the years he and his family had their ups and downs; however there were always more laughter than tears. He always praised God for all their love and blessings to him. Joseph had a great, God-fearing mother and father who lovingly raised him in the St. Louis area. At the age of thirteen, he was baptized at the Maplewood Baptist Church. When he was eighteen, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves and in September of 1947, he was called into active duty. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart, a President Unit and a Korean Medal. He was a machinist for most of his life and retired from Electrovert after nineteen years of service in the building maintenance department. He was active in many organizations including the Linn Creek Lodge #152 in Camdenton for over twenty-five years, Erie Star Chapter #332 and the Royal Arch Mason Council #56 in Lebanon. He was honored to be a Blue Lodge Mason, a Royal Arch Mason and Past Patron Erie Star for three terms. Joseph loved to dance and big band music. He was a rock hound and enjoyed the things of nature. Most of all, he loved his family and was proud to be a Christian, a Marine and a Mason. He was a loving and God-fearing father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Eastern Star Rites to be conferred. Burial with full military honors provided by the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League and left at the funeral home.
