Judith “Judy” Ann Burns, daughter of the late Clarence & Louise Peters, was born on September 23, 1943 and departed this life on February 22, 2023. At the time of her passing, Judy was seventy-nine years, four months and thirty days of age.
Judy was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, Raymond Burns; two daughters, Lori McGuire and Stephanie Morris; two brothers, Richard Peters and Donnie Peters; two sisters, Gail Linhart and Pamela Rhodes; one daughter-in-law, Katheryn Wright; one granddaughter, Bobbie Sue Wright; and one infant grandson.
She is survived by five children, Rachel & husband David Terry, Brenda & husband Ronnie Hunter, Loretta & husband Ronald Fogal, Allen Wright, and Eric & wife Paula Martin; two brothers, Ronald Peters and Terry Peters; three sisters, Dolores Wilson, Roxanna Callahan and Beverly Applebee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will truly miss her.
Judy was raised in Effingham, Kansas, where she would later graduate from high school. Following her high school graduation, she would move to Kansas City, Kansas where she would attend nursing school. She would then work as a nurse’s aid for twenty-seven years, most of her time being spent at Windsor Estates Care Center and Ozark Care Center. After her time in nursing, she worked at Brown & hicks café in Linn Creek for ten years.
In 2006, she was united in marriage to Raymond Burns and together they shared fourteen years of marriage, until his passing in 2020.
In her spare time, she loved to dance, listen to music, gamble, travel, go to garage sales and most important to her, spend time with her family.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & sister and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. until time of service Monday, February 27, 2023 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home and are incomplete at this time.
