JUDY R. DUFFEY Judy R. Duffey, daughter of John Sidney and Cara Crawley Wright, was born, July 4, 1919 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She departed this life, Friday, February 12, 2010, in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety years, seven months and eight days. She was united in marriage to Roy C. Duffey in Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1939 and to this union two children were born. Together they shared sixty-four years until his passing on March 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marie Longnecker. Survivors include a son, John "Pat" Duffey and wife Lucy Lauritsen of Blair, Nebraska; a daughter, Jody Hard and husband Gerald of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Tracy Bowen of Golden, Colorado, Sean Duffey of Omaha, Nebraska and Curtis Hard and Debra Shippy both of Dallas Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Bowen both of Golden, Colorado, Natalie, Nathan and Shauna Duffey all of Omaha, Nebraska and Trinity and Skylar Shippy and "soon-to-be" Hailey all of Dallas, Texas and host of other relatives and many friends. Judy was raised in Newton, Iowa and attended school there. She and her husband Roy owned and operated ten different Duffey's Market grocery stores in Nebraska and Iowa. They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Linn Creek, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and collecting antiques and Barbie dolls. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the New Testament Christian Church, Linn Creek. Burial will be at a later date in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to the New Testament Christian Church and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
