KATHERIN RYAN Edna Katherin Ryan, daughter of Josh and Frata Jo Griggs McGowin, was born, August 2, 1932 in Bagnell, Missouri. She departed this life, Friday, June 22, 2012, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and twenty days. On August 31, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Jack Westley Ryan and to this union three children were born. Together they shared the past sixty years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James McGowin, Buck McGowin and Dannie McGowan. Survivors include her husband, Jack W. Ryan of the home; two daughters, Rhonda J. Hanks and husband George "Bud" of Linn Creek, Missouri and Angelika F. Padilla and husband Tony of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Jack W. Ryan II; six grandchildren, Katie J. Dwiggins and husband Samuel of Eldon, Missouri, Josh R. Hanks of Linn Creek, Missouri, Krystal L. Ryan of Camdenton, Missouri, Tonya J. Danner and husband Jason of Montreal, Missouri, Misty K. Padilla of Greenwood, Arkansas and Ryan C. Padilla of Dayton, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Tracie, Logan, Mason, Baylie and Tristan; a sister, Nellie McGraw of Linn Creek, Missouri; a brother, Joshua "Buster" McGowin and wife Myna of Ulman, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Katherin was raised in Bagnell, Missouri and was a graduate of the School of the Osage. She and the family lived in various places while Jack served his country in the Army. They retired back to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1989. She was a homemaker, mother and help-mate to her husband. She served as president of the P.T.A. in El Paso, Texas and was a Girl Scout Leader. She did lots of volunteer work for school and children's activities. Katherin was baptized in Bagnell Baptist Church and attended Ulman Christian Church as long as her health permitted. In her spare time she loved to read and sew. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She touched many lives and her memory will linger on in the heart of those who knew and loved her. Graveside services and burial will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. Memorial donations may be made to Wee Care Center, Ulman Christian Church or Linn Creek Methodist Church and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
