Kenneth Eugene Rosack

Kenneth Eugene Rosack was born December 4, 1936 in Alton, Illinois. He departed this life Monday, December 5, 2022 in River Crossing of Alton, at the age of eighty-six years and one day.

On May 14, 1973 in Alton, Illinois; Kenneth was united in marriage to Sally Lynne Palen, and together they shared thirty-two years until her passing on April 26, 2006.

He was also preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Rosack; mother, Gertrude Stillwell; step-father, Keith “Red” Oettle; a daughter, Melisa Rosack; a son, Robert Parker, Jr.; a sister, Oray McAfoos; and a step-sister, Roberta Steingrubey.

Kenny is survived by his children: Michele Rosack of Alton, Illinois, Steven Rosack and wife Linda of Linn Creek, Missouri, Melinda Hopper and husband Martin of Gillespie, Illinois, Kathleen Allison and husband Bruce, of Camdenton, Missouri, Vickie Shelton and husband John, of Camdenton, Missouri, Cindy Brown and husband Kenny of Camdenton, Missouri, and David Parker and wife Michelle of Reno, Nevada; twenty-three grandchildren; numerous great-grand and great-great-grandchildren; a brother Michael Oettle, of Alton, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Kenny grew up in Alton and was a graduate of Alton High School where he was a stellar Baseball player and graduated “Silver Alpha.” He attended Shurtleff College before starting his career in the Grocery Store industry. Kenny excelled as a second baseman and short stop and even tried out for the St. Louis Cardinals. Kenny started his career in the grocery industry as a clerk and eventually worked his way to managing his own store. After Kenny and Sally were married, they fulfilled a dream of moving to the Lake of the Ozarks and owning a resort. They purchased Chimney Rock Resort and operated it for ten years until retirement. During his retirement year Kenny stayed busy working as a Marshall at the Deer Chase golf course.

Along with his family, Kenny helped establish and serve as an Elder at the Rock Church.

Kenny had a love for music and played bass guitar in the family band “Ozark Family Express” and together they played at many venues throughout the area for several years.

He was an avid outdoorsman. Kenny was a skilled deer and turkey hunter as well as an excellent fisherman. One of his favorite times spent hunting was the annual hunting trip he took with his sons, brother, nephews and grandsons. In his younger years, Kenny also worked as a sports official and played rec league softball.

Kenny was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle. We celebrate his long life and many accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, December 12, 2022 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 12pm until time of service Monday in the funeral home.
