Laura Collier

LAURA M. COLLIER Laura M. Collier, daughter of Andrew C. and Cassie C. Harrison Wilkey, was born, April 27, 1940 in Marie, Arkansas. She departed this life, Sunday, July 1, 2007 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years, two months and four days. On August 3, 1956 in Camden County, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Jon Collier and to this union, one daughter was born. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Jon of the home; a daughter, Kathy Bates and husband Michael of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tracey Morrow and husband Jared of Montreal, Missouri and Shaun Bates and wife Kristin of Camdenton, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Madisen Marrow; a brother, William C. Wilkey and wife Joann of Grand Pass, Missouri; a sister, Shirley Murphy of Clarksburg, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Queenie Wilkey of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She lived in Arkansas until the age of twelve, when she and her family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri. In 1954, she moved to Camden County, Missouri. After her marriage to Jon, they lived in various places until settling in Camdenton in 1968. She worked as a specialty cook and a dietician during her working years. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Foundation Fellowship Church in Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, fishing, cooking and studying herbs. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friends. We celebrate her life and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. No formal service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
