LAWRENCE D. NICHOLS Lawrence Dale Nichols, son of Ross Verbal and Kitty Long Nichols, was born, April 1, 1917 in Moorewood, Oklahoma. He departed this life, Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Beautiful Savior Home, Belton, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years, eight months and seventeen days. On February 14, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ruby Marie Price. Together they shared the past fifty-four years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Herb Nichols. Survivors include his loving wife, Marie of Belton, Missouri; a son, Larry Nichols of Belton, Missouri; a daughter, Nancy Hall of Raymore, Missouri; two step-sons, Bob Price of Kansas City, Missouri and Fred Price of Lee's Summit, Missouri; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He was raised in Oklahoma and moved to the Kansas City area in 1939. In 1963, he and Marie began building their lake home on Mimosa Beach in Climax Springs, Missouri. They retired to the lake in 1969. Lawrence was a contractor and did concrete work most of his life. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Camdenton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed life on the lake, especially fishing. Lawrence was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. He made an impression on many lives and his memory will live on forever in our hearts. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 in Mose Clark Cemetery, Climax Springs, Missouri, under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. No visitation will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.alleeholmanhowe.com.
