Lawrence P. Redden

Lawrence Paul Redden, son of Fred Eugene Redden and Verna Ellen Hassler Redden, was born October 27, 1934 in Bland, Missouri. He departed this life on May 2, 2018 in Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, six months, and five days. On June 13, 1958 in Lexington, Missouri he was united in marriage to Mary Lee Johnson and to this union four children were born. Together they shared nearly fifty-six years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and wife. Survivors include four children, Paul Redden and wife Mardeana of Lexington, Missouri, Mary Annette Dority and husband Dan of Lafayette, Oregon, Michael Redden of Climax Springs, Missouri, Daniel Redden of Springfield, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Melba Garrison and Bob of Lexington, Nola Banister and Frank of Holiday Island, Arkansas, Sharon Bingham of Knob Noster, Missouri, mother-in-law, Mary Stephenson of Lexington, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Lawrence was raised in Lexington, Missouri where he helped his dad on the family farm. He served in the National Guard and worked for the fire department before he joined the Navy and worked his way up to the rank of Sr. Chief Electrician while serving in the Nuclear Submarine Program. He enjoyed military reunions and proudly watched several of his children and grandchildren serve in the Armed Forces. Lawrence retired in 1980 to Climax Springs where he owned and operated Redden Electric and Plumbing. During retirement, he was quartermaster of the VFW in Climax Springs and served on the local volunteer fire department. Lawrence made a profession of faith early in life and was a member of Ozark Bethel Chapel. In his spare time, Lawrence was an avid feeder of hummingbirds, and lured hundreds of the beautiful birds to his property during the summer months. He was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Ozark Bethel Chapel, Saturday May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Lexington Memory Gardens in Lexington, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to Ozark Bethel Chapel and the VFW of Climax Springs.
