Leonard Edward Vondera, son of Edward William and Dorothy Theresa (Stotko) Vondera, was born December 21, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, July 26, 2019 in his home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, seven months, and five days. On October 7, 1977, Leonard was united in marriage to Frances Tierney and together they shared nearly forty-two years. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Vondera. He is survived by his wife, Frances Vondera; two nieces, Mary Jo King and husband Jon, and Terri Goggin; and a nephew Gerard Vondera. Leonard spent his years living in the St. Louis area. He attended Washington University in St. Louis. Leonard entered into the United States Army and served as a Second Lieutenant until being honorably discharged. He later worked at McDonnell Douglas and the United States Army as a Technical Service Writer. Following his retirement, Leonard and Frances made their home in the Lake of the Ozarks area. He was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton, Missouri. In his earlier years, he was a member in St. Anthony in St. Louis and was active in the Men’s Choir for over thirty years. Leonard was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Leonard was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. We celebrate his life and will treasure the many wonderful memories that he has created for his family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 29, 2019 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial with Full Military Honors will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
