LESTER DENNY Lester James Denny, son of Samuel Arthur and Edna Sandage Denny, was born, April 13, 1927 in Camden County, Missouri. He departed this life, Wednesday, October 3, 2007, in his son's home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, five months and twenty days. On June 17, 1947, in Lebanon, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Abigail Cullen and to this union two children were born. Abigail passed away, September 21, 2007 and they were united again in heaven after only twelve days apart. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gracie Coleman, Mabel Coleman and Leona Moreland; two brothers, John William Denny and Harold Glenn Denny. Survivors include a son, Randy Denny and wife Sandy; a daughter, Sandy Shivers and husband Randy; a brother, Jesse Denny and wife Acey; a sister, Ruby Price; four grandchildren, Nikki Franklin and husband Zach, Samantha Emry and husband Coby, Casey Shivers and Cody Shivers; two great-grandchildren all of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lester was a life-long resident of Camden County, Missouri. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He helped set-up Dawson which later became Modine, worked there as a machinist, and retired after many years of service. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Myetta Missionary Baptist Church in Camdenton. In his spare time he enjoyed coon hunting, riding horses and farming. Most of all, his family was his greatest joy, especially his grandchildren. Lester was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his many accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Myetta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Myetta Cemetery Fund and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
