LESTER "LES" MCGREW, JR. Lester Louis McGrew Jr., son of Lester Louis, Sr. and Gloria Morning McGrew, was born, January 28, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Friday, May 28, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years and four months. On October 2, 1965 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carole Iris Conway. Together they shared the past forty-five years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carole McGrew of the home; two sons, Brian McGrew and Randy McGrew both of Climax Springs, Missouri; a granddaughter, Sandi Sawyer; a great-granddaughter, Destiny Sawyer both of Jefferson City, Missouri; a sister, Linda Tucker and husband Gary of Flagler Beach, Florida; four brothers, Dan McGrew and wife Denise of Kansas City, Kansas, Mark McGrew and wife Becky of Belton, Missouri, Steve McGrew and wife Joy of Flagler Beach, Florida and Tim McGrew of Lake Lotawana, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lester was raised in Kansas City and was a graduate of South East High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he lived in California for a time before returning to the Kansas City area. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1998. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 41 in Kansas City. Lester made a profession of faith and was a member of Climax Springs Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3600 in Climax Springs. In his spare time he enjoyed cars and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to V.F.W. Post #3600 and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
