Lillie Pearl Warren Hanks, daughter of Sherman and Maggie Croy Warren, was born April 30, 1934 in Lincoln, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years, four months, and twenty-seven days. On September 9, 1968, Lillie was united in marriage to Gilbert Lee Hanks and together they shared seventeen years until his passing on September 25, 1985. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Frances Pennington. Lillie is survived by two daughters, Jaylena Marie Phillips of Osage Beach, Missouri and Maggie Janiece Hanks and husband Chris Arnold of Wichita, Kansas; a son Gail Leroy Hanks and wife Christina of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Anthony Hanks, Courtney and Miryah Findley, Rachel Wahl, and Drake Warren; one great-grandchild, Kalianna Lillie Hanks; a sister Lora Lee Henderson of Morris Town, Kentucky; two brothers, Don Warren and wife Janet, of Congress, Arizona and Roy Warren and wife Dorothy of Lincoln, Missouri; a half-sister, Hazel Pollard of Green Ridge, Missouri and a half-brother Gordon Warren of Green Ridge, Missouri; as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Lillie spent her childhood in the Lincoln, Missouri area where she attended Union Grade School and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City for a short while and then back to Lincoln where she met Gilbert. After marriage, Lillie and Gilbert lived in various locations throughout Missouri before settling in the Camdenton area in 1977. Lillie had accepted Christ as her Savior was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camdenton. In her younger years, Lillie liked doing crocheting, embroidering and other handiwork. In her later years, she enjoyed listening to Christian radio, especially KCVO, and watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball games on television. She was also an avid fan of golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Lillie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and her many dear friends. Memorial services for Mrs. Lillie Hanks will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
